“In the Beginning” teaches how God made the world and everything around us. With this lesson you can help your students learn that God made everything with a purpose and a plan and He is actively involved in our lives. Get the craft and Bible lesson below.
When teaching children about how God created the world, it is a great time to emphasize the power, wonder and creativity of God. Take the children outside and have them find something that reminds them of how creative God is: a leaf, a feather, a seed, or bug! If you can’t go outside, bring some leaves, flowers or something to pass around in the classroom.
Remind the children that God made everything in six days, and on the sixth day, He made mankind–His special creation–us! (Genesis 1) He gave special attention to making humans when He formed us in His own image and then breathed life and spirit into us. Because of this, we have a living spirit in and have (Genesis 1: 26-27)
Remember: As you teach children about Creation, you are building a foundation for their faith in God and how He is the Creator of all and we can trust in Him! By connecting the natural world around us with God’s creation, they can be reminded everyday of how God made everything!
The verse for today is:
John 1:3
“All things were made by him;”
