This lesson teaches how Adam and Eve sinned and lost their home in the Garden of Eden. Even though they messed up, God still had a plan to for them and for humanity. Teaching the story of Adam and Eve is a prime opportunity to explain about how God cared for people and gave them the choice to love and obey him. Even though God loved them so much and gave them the perfect place to live, Adam and Eve still chose to disobey God. Satan is still trying to get us to disobey God today. Temptations are very real, but we can overcome temptation by following Jesus’ example that we find in Matthew 4.

Topics to go deeper: 1) Talk about temptations and how to overcome them. 2) Discuss how God sent them out of the garden, but He was still with them and cared for them by giving them clothes, etc. 3) Their sin didn’t mess up God’s plan.
