Training teachers and equipping them to disciple children is a key element in what we do here in Guatemala.
Back in June, a young lady, named Angelica, asked if we would come and do a training workshop with her church’s children’s ministry leaders. We responded with a big yes!
We talked through the details and suggested that she invite other churches they have connections with to join in on the training. She invited leaders from four other churches!
In July we held a Satrurday afternoon training session at the Iglesia Casa de Oración (House of Prayer Church) with topics like: vision, discipleship, organization and key elements to include in every children’s service.
There were 18 participants from five churches. These were mainly young adults. Most of them had less than one year of experience in children’s ministry and they were interested in the practical lessons.
As we teach workshops like this, our desire is to encourage and build up the local leaders who come so that they go back to their churches with greater confidence that the Lord is the one who equips them to disciple the new generation.
After the worshop, Angelina sent a message telling us that the House of Prayer church pastor was very happy with the training. “We are very grateful. We enjoyed it. You left a great seed.”
She said that some of the other participants wrote to here to say they enjoyed the workshop especially because this is the first workshop they’ve had from someone outside of their church group.

Please pray for us and for church leaders like Angelica who are helpign to train up new leaders who pour the Gospel into children and families here in Guatemala.
