October is the end of the school year here in Guatemala, and we are celebrating another great year of studying God’s Word together with the students from our neighborhood public elementary school!
These 60-some elementary students and their teachers have been studying Bible stories and principles with us throughout the year. As a fun incentive to memorize Bible verse and correctly answer questions, we gave out tokens that they could “spend” in our prize store that we set up twice a year.
With the end of the school year just around the corner, we held the token store last week and celebrated with the children over the lessons they learned and the fun we had learning them.
Thanks to help from our missions intern, Anna and our friend Carol it was a great event!
Here are some photos from the store festivities from last week!

Lessons we studied this half of the year include key moments from the Life of Christ:
- Baptism
- Temptation
- Miracles
- Encounter with Nicodemus
- Zaccheus
- Woman at the well
- Triumphal Entry
- The Last Supper
- Washing the disciples’ feet
- Prayer in the Garden
- Peter’s Denial
- Crucifixion
- Burial
- Resurrection
- Ascension
- Return (next week’s lesson!)
Students review weekly Bible verses to help them hide God’s Word in their hearts as they learn.
Our students come from a variety of backgrounds (Catholic, Evangelical, Mormon, and mixed religious), but we see God opening a door for us into these young hearts and their families.
Many of these children have responded to Salvation messages we’ve shared. They have prayed sick classmates and for sick family members and are learning how to trust God.

Please pray for these Little Disciples: that their hearts will be fully opened to Christ and that they will grow in and practice God’s Word in their lives.
